Adam's Birthday!!!

October 14 was Adam's birthday, but due to both of our schedules (and some extra planning and plotting on m
y part) we weren't able to celebrate until Friday. We went to a dinner that Adam thought would be just the 2 of us. I had made reservations for between 7 and 7:30. It's a good thing I gave them the later time and tried for the earlier time because with the stinkin traffic we hit we didn't get there until 7:30. When we finally got to the restaurant Adam was excited to see that it was Quaker Steak and Lube. Oh, but that was only the beginning.
When we walked
in I gave them our name and they took us to our table.... where my parents, his parents, his siblings, and his best friend Zac and his dad Paul were all waiting for us! SURPRISE! He was soo excited! We ate great, had fabulous cake that my parents brought, and he got to open fun gifts from everyone. After all the fun and everyone but his sibs left, we were taking all his gifts out to the car. On the way to the cars (they were parked near each other) I asked who was riding with us and who was going to be riding back to our apartment with Kelley in her car. Adam stopped, jaw dropped and amazed that the surprises weren't over. He was excited when he realized that he was going to be able to spend all of Saturday with his sibs. It was a great birthday weekend and I loved planning every minute of it for Adam and seeing how surprised and happy he was with everything made it more than worth it. I love you Adam!

New Start

After months of aggravation and getting the run-around and almost not having a place to live for a bit, we are now in our beautiful new apartment. We have been here for about 2 months and absolutely love it. We went from a itty-bitty 2 bedroom/1 bath to a much larger 2 bedroom/1.5 bath and all the wonderful storage space one would want. (Our storage space in the old place was the 2nd bedroom). All this space is going to really come in handy since Adam and I are expecting our first child in the Spring!
I am currently 15 weeks with a cute little belly. We had our second appointment yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat again. It was so much stronger and louder and much easier to find than the first time. I have had no morning sickness and have been feeling great that I sometime wonder if the little tyke is still in there doing its thing, so it was a great to hear that its little heart is good and strong.
I'm really excited to feel the baby move and have been told that it should be soon. I am disappointed though that I haven't been craving anything. When did some of you start feeling your baby move and what did you crave? Am I too late to get the cravings? I was soo excited for that part... sending Adam for random mid-night food runs and odd sandwiches and stuff. Maybe I'll just make some up to fill my silly void.

Party... for those that couldn't make it or would like to relive it

I am obsessed with Michael Buble and ended up having a little Michael Buble theme for our Ring Ceremony/Reception. The beautiful bridal party walked down to Canon in D on the piano which was then faded into Michael Buble "You and I" (it's all piano for the beginning of the song) for when I walked down with my dad. We walked back to "For Once in My Life." We were introduced with "Everything" and walked straight onto the dance floor for our first dance, "The Way You Look Tonight" (there is about a 30 second interlude where the bridal party was introduced and joined us on the dance floor to finish out the bridal dance).

We partied some (thank you Justin and Ryan... fabulous DJing!), mingled and then for the toasts. James sang acapella "I Thought I Loved You Then" by Brad Paisley (even though it was country it was a perfect song. Thanks James!!!)followed by Rebs giving me the bestest maid of honor speech/gift! A fabulous memory of happy days when we became friends and fulfilling my wish to dance to Live's "I wanna Dance with You" aka The Walking Beach Song. The memory got better with all of our friends gathering around us and blowing bubbles. It honestly couldn't have gotten better had it been planned!

My dad changed themes on me with a jazzed up waltz to "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" for our daddy/daughter dance. I let him pick the song and he couldn't have picked a better song or a better version of the song had he had years to search. It fit perfectly with our side theme of the fairy tale wedding. Rebs got us these beautiful glasses with delicate castles as stems and matching cake cutter! *Rebs, you were a life savor! We couldn't find either that we liked and were willing to commit too!* Our cake topper was a ceramic featureless couple with the guy carrying the girl. Again, perfect!

Later in the evening, Adam, Zak and James did a few patterns from TKD. It was soo awesome to watch and even more impressive with them all spiffed up in their suits and vests. It was AWESOME!!! The whole night was perfect ending with us escaping through a trail of bubbles! Off to Mexico in the morning for a week of relaxation... FINALLY!!! :)

Forever and Always

October 22, 2009 was the best day ever! Adam and I were sealed forever and always! Adam drove down to DC with his family the night before and stayed with a family friend. My sisters, brother-in-law, best friend Rebs, my parents and I all drove down that day, checked into the hotel, changed, and got to the temple with maybe an hour to spare. When we pulled in I saw Adam and James walking up the road all spiffed up in their suits and shades. Talk about some studs! We were married with some of our closest friends and family there (those that were able to make it). Barbara Colton and my mom helped me get ready and then they escaped so they could witness our entrance as husband and wife. Adams expression when he first saw me in my dress was perfect!! I gave Adam a set of cuff links with his initials engraved and he gave me a green set of scriptures with my new name engraved on them.

We were off for hugs, kisses and pictures. It was a beautiful sunny autumn day and I could have stayed out there all day just enjoying it all!! After all that fun we all headed to Red Lobster for some food (finally!!) and laughs. Not too long after we got there everyone kicked us out (so much for the food). So good-byes were said and off Adam and I went to start our married life... too bad we passed our exit and got lost on the way... haha.

We had our reception on the 24th and had the greatest time! 3 of my favorite parts: James singing for his best man speech (even though it was country I still enjoyed it!! Thanks James) Adam and I dancing to "I wanna dance with you" (Rebs, you're the best!) and all our friends blowing bubbles all around us!! Adam, Zak and James doing some TKD patters in their suits! Oh, and waltzing with my dad!!!

The next morning off we went to Mexico for a week for our Honeymoon! FABULOUS!!!!
